Princess Kate returns to hospital where she received treatment as new…

The Prince and Princess of Wales have become Joint Patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

The announcement follows Her Royal Highness’s visit to the hospital’s Chelsea site today, where she received her own cancer treatment.

During her visit, the Princess met with current patients receiving treatment at the hospital.

She also spent time with staff members working across various roles within the facility, strengthening the connection between the Royal Family and this specialist cancer centre.

We are incredibly fortunate to receive Royal Patronage – it is inspiring for staff and patients and enables us to shine a light on the outstanding work our staff deliver every day,” she said.

The Royal Marsden made history when it opened in 1851 as the world’s first hospital dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education.

Today, the NHS Foundation Trust operates as a world-leading cancer centre across three sites in Chelsea, Sutton and Cavendish Square in central London.
