Kate Middleton shares her cancer treatment details for the first time at…

Kate Middleton made a heartfelt visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she herself was treated for cancer. This marked her first solo public appearance in over a year.

The future Queen took this opportunity to express her gratitude to the staff for their exceptional care and compassion during her treatment and to show solidarity with those currently undergoing treatment. Upon entering through the front revolving door, she remarked: “Coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it’s quite nice.”

She spoke with a patient who had just begun chemotherapy, acknowledging the “really, really tough” impact on families.

The treatments are really so different and so varied, It impacts families differently,” she noted. When a patient complimented her on managing her children well, Kate responded: “It’s just trying to do the best…” Reflecting on her own journey, she added: “You think treatment is finished, crack on with that… daily tasks… but that’s still a real challenge. And understanding that as a patient, yes, there are side effects around treatment, but actually there are more long term side effects.”

Kate revealed last summer that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with cancer in February, reports the Mirror.

The diagnosis came after she spent two weeks at The London Clinic in Marylebone following abdominal surgery.

After taking a step back from royal duties, 43 year old Kate managed to grace several key events including the King’s official birthday in London, strutting through Trooping the Colour, and being spotted with her sister Pippa and daughter Princess Charlotte at the Wimbledon Championships last June. She appears poised for a comeback to full-time royal engagements in the near future.

However, a reminder came from Kensington Palace, underlining that Kate’s return to the public spotlight is planned to be a gradual process. Her visit to the Marsden was described as a personal pilgrimage.

A spokesperson from Kensington Palace conveyed: “The Princess wanted to make the journey to both show her gratitude to the incredible team, but also highlight the world leading care and treatment the Marsden provides.

During her time there, the mother of three engaged with both staff and present patients undergoing treatment. Further announcement included her new position beside Prince William as joint Royal Patron of the Royal Marsden—a cancer research center pivotal in propelling forward cancer care globally.

In this new role, the Palace noted that the Princess is eager to aid the Marsden in its pursuit to push boundaries in cancer research, treatment, and patient care, as well as comprehend the potential impacts on future patient wellness.
